This drug is only available on clinical study, in first-line use (initial therapy). There is no data about using it in other situations. Your physicians should be able to point you to trials and/or other therapies for metastatic her-2+ breast cancer. There are many other standard therapies that are not taxance (taxol, taxotere, abraxane).

Hi, mi wife is fighting a old metastatic breast cancer since 2000.
She received a lot of chemo(200), taxotere, herceptin and now, Abraxanne.
With Abraxanne, the cancer did not progres. She tries to come back to taxotere and cancer grow up.
Is neratinib could be use with abraxanne ?
I suppose that if it's possible teh result could be very good.
We are Canadian (québec) and research are always in late here.
I know she won't abel to receive an other 200 chemo(side effects) and i'm looking to find other solutions.

The question is : could you help us ?

Thanks

No, there was no critieria for low bone density to enter the study. The study was reported in the New England Journal of Medicine on February 12, 2009. That report did not report the changes in bone density in the treatment groups. It did note in the discussion that zoledronic acid effectively prevented bone loss in patients receiving adjuvant therapy with aromatase inhibitors. The detailed information on the bone effects of zoledronic acid in the premenopausal group of women in this study will hopefully be reported separately.

The trial requires completion of 12 months of Herceptin. In reviewing further, if a patient has not been able to complete Herceptin, a minimum of 8 weekly doses, or three doses of every-three-week dosing are minimum requirements.

I am wondering if someone had 6 months of Herceptin verses 12, within 2 years, would they still be eligible for the clinical trial?
